*** FRAUD ALERT *** Text messaging scams continue to be a
major threat across the United States, and even locally, with fraudsters
attempting to gain access to your personal information. These scams can be
related to fraud on your debit card, or by simply asking you to verify a
transaction that you know you did not make. The initial request can sometimes
seem harmless, but the further along the scammer can convince the recipient of
the message to cooperate, the more details they are hoping you will provide.
Don't fall victim to scams like this. School Systems FCU and other financial institutions will never call or text you and ask that you provide us with your personal, card or account information. Our credit union's fraud department does not send fraud alerts via text. Any text messages you receive requesting that you respond about debit card fraud, confirm transactions or provide personal information should be considered suspicious and we encourage you to contact one of our branches immediately.
